In addition to technical protection, laboratories for testing, measuring and analysis of electrical installations, as well as the construction and maintenance of telecommunication networks, comcross croatia has recently included the production of electrical cabinets in the range of its services. This is due to the new production facility, which is equipped with solutions of the highest technological level and energy efficiency. What the production process looks like, which equipment is co-financed through the Comcross project – production plant, and how much everything is accelerated in relation to the manual processing of each component, is described by Ivan Jakšić, production manager at comcross croatia.
Design, 3D models, processing and assembly
We start by designing according to the client's wishes, followed by the creation of 3D models, CNC mechanical processing of the housing and base plate, in order to create space for cable glands, pushbuttons and sensors. Then we move on to the automated and precise cutting of all the necessary elements, with the installation of the electrical cabinet on ergonomic brackets in the pre-assembly process. All this is the introductory part of the process in our production plant, where DIN rails, cable ducts and other equipment are then installed, while the preparation for wiring is followed by the connection of all elements with the help of 3D software – reveals electrical engineer Jakšić, emphasizing that the production capacity itself has been significantly increased by the implementation of first-class equipment, which enables time savings of an average of 42 percent per project. compared to manual production.

Certified testing as a sign of quality
Everything is rounded off by testing functionality and safety, where after testing the installed equipment according to ISO standards, the final documentation is made, which together with the final product goes to the clients. Namely, testing includes testing the quality of the electrical network, testing of installations and cable insulation, and testing with thermal imaging cameras. All the tests we carry out are certified and therefore guarantee the quality of service and the excellence of the end product – emphasizes Ivan Jakšić, revealing all the equipment purchased for the production plant according to the principles of Industry 4.0.
The processing centre consists of assembly tables for processing and wiring control cabinets, a mobile station for processing busbars, machines for automatically cutting conductors to a specific length, machines for stripping insulation, a work station for wiring and a centre for processing mounting plates, doors and enclosures. In addition, a stationary and a portable printer for labelling, a range of smaller devices and special tools for the workshop, a range of instruments for measuring installations, devices and instruments for testing cables and wires, EPLAN software solutions for planning and design as well as computer equipment for planning production processes, designing electrical communication cabinets and process monitoring and analysis were acquired.
